TBS Source Aureo

On long-range flights, long flight time matters a lot. The flight time depends very much on the weight of the drone. To make the long-range drone as light as possible, TBS initiated an open community collaborative project, resulting in the unique TBS Aureo. Because the project is opensource, all drawings and 3D printed parts are available for the frame.

TBS Aureo targets low weight. The frame is cut from carbon and a material similar to rohacell sandwich. This composite makes the TBS Aureo extremely lightweight and weighs less than 50 grams, which is roughly 3 times less than a regular 7" frame. Even with its light weight and smaller dimensions, the frame is designed to hold all commonly available parts. The frame has holes for 30.5x30.5mm M3 stacks, 20x20mm M2 and 25.5x25.5mm M2 AIO boards.
