Radiomaster Pocket is a small radio with great price/performance ratio. It is thus suitable for beginning pilots or for those who want a compact and small radio. Its small size makes the radio suitable for younger pilots. The radio uses hall gimbals with removable ends for easy transport. These can be stored on the side of the radio. The transmitting antenna is foldable and takes up a minimum of space during transport.
Instead of conventional switches, the radio is equipped with cradle and buttons, which are again more compact and more durable. All radio status information is displayed on the LCD monochrome display. Radio setup is the same as other Radiomaster models using 6 buttons and a rotary dial. The radio uses the fully configurable EdgeTX firmware. The Radiomaster Pocket is powered by a pair of 18650 Liion batteries (not included), which can be charged via the lower USB-C connector. The USB connector on the top is used to connect to a PC for flying the simulator. On the back of the radio is a standard small Nano shaft for possible expansion with an external transmitter module. From the back of the radio, the gimbal stiffness can be easily adjusted.
A great advantage of the radio is the integrated ELRS module with a power output of up to 250mW and a refresh rate of up to 1kHz. The ExpressLRS (ELRS for short) is an open source project and the transmit and receive modules are produced by multiple manufacturers. ELRS is currently one of the most advanced RC transmissions. It offers reliable long distance link, high refresh rate, adjustable power, update via wifi, bluetooth connectivity and more. ELRS at 2.4GHz outperforms conventional RC systems in every way while maintaining short antennas. Bluetooth will be especially appreciated by simulator fans, where you can connect wirelessly to a PC.
