PhotonDrive ESC-R-150 is a high-end, powerful ESC designed for Cinelifters, large drones, or aircraft models. PhotonDrive is a company from the Czech Republic, where this ESC was also designed.
PhotonDrive ESC 150 supports power input up to 15S LiPo batteries and a peak current of up to 150A. Typical usage is with a 12S LiPo battery and a continuous current of 60A without a heatsink. The ESC features an 8-layer PCB, a 32-bit processor (STM32G431), and protection against electrostatic discharge. Voltage spikes from motors are absorbed by a TVS diode. The ESC monitors the passing current and temperature.
The ESC runs on the default firmware ESCape32. It supports both PWM input and bidirectional DSHOT. Additionally, telemetry output via UART protocols like KISS is supported. ESCape32 allows adjustable variable output PWM frequency ranging from 15-96kHz. Also supported are sinusoidal startup, overheat protection, and more.
The ESC comes with a pre-installed external capacitor. Pads for easy firmware updates or flashing alternative firmware are also available.
