Flyfish Volador VD5 is a quality frame designed for freestyle and cinematic flying. The frame is in a VD5 - deadcat configuration with 5" propellers. Thanks to the deadcat layout, the front arms are moved more to the side and back, so the propellers are not visible in the HD recording or in the FPV video. The category of 5" freestyle frames is the most widespread and versatile. It is suitable for aggressive freestyle, flying for pleasure and filming with an HD camera.
The frame is carved from top-quality T700 carbon, which has better strength than commonly used carbon (T300). In addition, the arms are carved from 6mm thick carbon. This increases not only the resistance against falling, but also the transmission of vibrations from the motors to the control unit due to the high strength. The frame is very well made. The edges of the frame are bevelled, so there is no risk of the cable being cut by a sharp edge. The screws are made of durable grade 12.9 steel. The screws are pre-applied with Loctite, so the screws stay tight and won't loosen due to vibration. The camera is protected by a metal mount, made of durable 7075 aluminum alloy, which is commonly used on drones to make better motors. The camera has an adjustable angle of 15-60°. The frame has a number of 3D prints including a shoulder protector, a GoPro camera holder or a GPS. On the top plate, the frame has a silicone pad that increases the friction between the frame and the battery and minimizes the chance of the battery slipping out in the event of a fall. You will also be pleased with the way the XT60 connector is attached. It is firmly fixed in the upper plate. The battery cables do not have a chance to get tangled between the propellers, where they could be cut.
The frame has M3 mounting holes for 20x20mm and 30.5x30.5mm stacks. There is a place for a second stack at the back of the frame. The mounting holes are 20x20mm and 25.5x25.5mm M2. Caddx Vista, Walksnail Avatar or DJI O3 can also be placed in the frame.
